as a college student, we are expected to express ourselves by writing thousand word essays. Our papers need to clearly express what we want to say and engage the reader. No matter how many hours I do or do not put into this paper, it may only be in English or with my attempt at good grammar. However the paper that we write is not a universally understood paper no matter how well I write it; there are limitations in language.
a language that is universal is the one that is not spoken at all.
people can speak with their bodies by how they physically present themselves to others, but I think the most powerful expression of true emotions is in your eyes.
tears can flow like a waterfall when you are hurt or when you are so filled with joy that only water dripping down your cheek is released from your body.
pupils can be dilated in the fear of a shocking or terrifying event
although different from these black and white emotions are expressed and easily identified by others, more complex emotions can be expressed just through one’s eyes.
Have you ever looked into someone’s eyes and felt as though they can see straight into your soul? I don’t mean the silly things you read in books, but when (in my case, a guy) had such powerful eyes that by just one look it felt as though he knew all of your secrets. Have you ever looked at someone that you had just met and were just lost in their eyes and receiving a loving face in return for yours? You may know nothing about the person, but there is a moment when you both look at each other and something just automatically clicks.
These occurrences are so powerful between the two individuals it is hard for either one to look away, although I am always the one that looks away first. I will never forget the feeling or power of a simple look that has no way of physically touching you, but will remain with you forever.
Looks may be deceiving, but the true emotion behind another’s eyes hold the truth and is the same in any language.
